Ezine Day :: A Short List of Places to Promote Your Ezine

Here’s a short list of places to promote your ezine.

I have a much longer list that will be in the Free Traffic Primer series, which purchasers of Free Traffic Tips – the book will be getting every month for free as part of their subscription.

I wasn’t really supposed to announce that yet (as my business partner GLARES at me) but oh well. :-D

My favorite place to announce a list is EzineUniverse.com’s New List. It gives me my initial push of subscribers, whose expectations are normally not as high as the quality of the publication, because they realize – it’s brand new.

It’s a good idea to subscribe to the category that you place your ezine in, because you’ll find many new webmasters to start partnerships or ezine ad swaps with. If you catch them when their ezine is small and on the rise, you can form alliances early on.

NOTE: Before you get started promoting your list, you’ll want to get a new email address specifically for this purpose, one you can check from time to time, but that will not be the one you use to get personal email, or interact with your clients. Some advise against this, but I feel that as long as it’s one you read on a regular basis, it’s okay.

Ezine Day :: Promotion. Promotion. PROMOTION!

The key to using an ezine as a traffic tool is never stop promoting your newsletter. Most people submit to a dozen directories when their site is new and get caught up in the day to day of running their site and the list that goes with it.

Don’t get caught in this trap.

Even if it only goes out four times a year, promote your ezine weekly, like it’s brand new. You might also find a way to get new subscribers using the back issues. I have two lists – one that goes out in real time, and another that starts from the beginning of the year for whatever site I have.

So where can you promote your ezine?

Tell ya in a sec!

Intro to Ezine Day

An Ezine for Your Site

One of the biggest “understood” facts about the Internet is that it’s not the World Wide Web itself that can make you the biggest money. It’s having the largest, happiest database of double-opt-in subscribers that can generate a residual income. And no, they don’t have to be accessing your information through email – they can be RSS subscribers too. But we’ll get into RSS later on in this series.

Some people with great ezines don’t even feel the need to have sites. They find out what you’re interested in, join some affiliate plans related to it, mix in free information about it, and start an ezine. Not to mention the revenue you can make from advertising. I’ll give you examples of good ezines to join shortly.

There are resources all over the Net about how to start an ezine, as well as tools to help you format it correctly and what kinds of issues you will run into as a result.

Free Traffic Tips :: Special Webmaster Thur – I mean Wednesday

I had a bit of an issue today, so the first day of Free Traffic Methods is a little late.

But the good news is, I’m going to push these through as if they were published on Wednesday and continue on with Thursday (don’t want all my wonderful feed subscribers to think there’s something wrong with the feed!)

Be back in a minute with the Ezine Introduction.

Just in case you weren’t able to grab the enclosure from the podcast last night via Flash, here it is as an mp3. I’ll probably end up offering both.
