Increase Your Website Traffic with The Blog Virus – Part One

So. What is a Viral Blog? Why should you give a rat’s backside?

Why are we talking about rats? Ew.

You’ve heard of viral marketing. That’s when you create a strain of marketing that perpetuates itself. You don’t need to grow it. You start the marketing, it builds its own momentum and keeps on going forever. You don’t have to constantly jump-start it. In fact, you may not be able to stop it if you try.

So what is a viral blog?

A viral blog is one that people link to and pass on because they just can’t help it. If they forget to tell someone about it, they might forget to use it themselves. Folks bookmark it, they tell other people about it, they email themselves so they won’t forget. They join your subscription via email so they won’t forget. They put your RSS feeds in their own special folders so they won’t forget.

Update to the Blog Traffic Package Tonight

That’s right, boo. I’m updating the Blog Traffic Package in preparation for a ground-up re-tooling. In the version coming out very late tonight:

  • The Exact Step-by-Step program I use to get my new blogs ranked in the top 5 for traffic-yielding keywords in under a month. Step one, create your blog with this this or that, step two, here’s how you need to have your site arranged. Step three, this is how you use a blog to capture a keyword ranking organically, without cheating. Etc.
  • Wonder why I used Blogger? Did you even realize I had? And why I finally changed to another system? Of the free systems, what is a very close second to Blogger’s FTP option as far as obtaining search engine positioning for your site quickly?(Not Blogspot, Blogger. Blogspot accounts can be deleted with no notice, and no reason, and you have to play by a lot more rules.)

How did I hack Blogger ever so slightly to leverage it’s natural tendency for high rankings? Want to see a public example of a client who is still using the same method and how it is still working for him?

  • My HUGE Blogger secret.I’ve touched on it very lightly but never said how to do it, why, where and how much. No one has ever figured this out (except a few clients I told and Lee Odden. But I bet he knew already.)

This makes me able to predict whether or not I’ll be able to rank for a term. It’s worked for 3 years and still works today. I just did it last week to secure an additional top high traffic ranking for this site, without losing the old one.

  • How I figured out how to port my secret over to Wordpress. It was staring me in the face and I didn’t see it! How blind I was… benefit from my oversight.
  • Live proof of this secret working for a client of mine on a totally different platform.
  • What’s the best non-free blog platform? It’s not the one you think. It’s an incredible system for blogging, and it completely frees you from worrying about SEO. Most medium to large corporations haven’t heard of it, but if they did, they’d start blogging immediately. I’ll tell you where to get it, and how to get me to train you on it personally. (One of those things that’s useless in the wrong hands.)

Crap. Did I really forget?

Yes, I forgot to thank Chris Pirillo for having me as an author on Lockergnome. So, thank you, Chris, it’s an honor and a pleasure. I’ll give some more special shout-outs to folks when I start sitting at the big kids table.

Feed Readers forgive me for repeating Google News

But this is totally delicious. If you’re not a huge Matt Cutts fan and you love Google, you need to rip 2004 and 2005 off the calander and join the rest of the Googlaholics.

I particularly enjoyed this delectable post where he took time out of his Google Engineer schedule and posted answers to a bunch of Google questions.

I used to read him from time to time but now I’m becoming a die-hard fan. He started giving SEO Advice.
