Traffic Method #252.5 | Stop. Whining. Punk.

And do something.

Do anything.

Pick one task, and do it.

Give it a test period, a time allottment each day, set a reasonable goal, and keep working until you meet it.

In 15 minutes a day for two weeks, you can get that article written, edited, spell checked, posted to your blog, then sent to Article Marketer or Submit Your Article for mass distribution. Done and done.

What am I on about today?

Now that there’s so many opportunties to get cost effective, or even no cost traffic to a website, people are starting to complain that there are too many ways, so they’re going to stick to the way they already know work.

[video]Google Analytics | Revolutionaries Only

If all the Google posts haven’t clued you in, today is Google Tuesdays here at IYWT. (Pronouced EE-wit. We don’t spell it that way cuz it stands for the phrase that pays).

Last week, Google Analytics started a playlist of their videos on… Analytics. One that is relatively short and has many good points that you shouldn’t sleep through I am including here. It’s called Google Analytics – Rules for Revolutionaries.

It can really open your eyes about how much faith you should put in the raw numbers that speak to your site, and makes good points such as the relative results of web advertising vs offline advertising.

Google Greeny | Be That to Get That

Confused about my title? Let me break it down for you.

The News — > Google’s talking about its Green Initiatives, and is offering you Cash Money to keep up green living commitments you make in videos you post to YouTube.

No lie.

And now, we encourage all of you to get your wheels spinning to offset climate change. Google has teamed up with Specialized and Goodby Silverstein & Partners on the Innovate or Die Pedal-Powered Machine Challenge, to give you problem-solvers a chance to show us with a YouTube video how you harness pedal power in innovative ways. In January, you could win $5,000 in cash and Specialized Globe bikes to keep up your commitment. We’re doing our bit to support new solutions. Are you feeling inspired?

Google Rumors | Why Would Google Buy Sirius? Seriously?

Okay I couldn’t resist. The Grey’s Anatomy premiere is coming up. Seriously!

Okay, I’ll stop. Forgive me, I’m yet to sleep.

The Rumor –> Google wants its own satellite radio dynasty.

Google could be willing to purchase satellite radio provider Sirius.

Howard Stern and his merry band of entertainers could be looking at shifts in the corporate structure if Google were to deliver on what’s either a really hot rumor or a mischief making writer spinning out the end of a long Friday.

My Thoughts? — > It could be a gold mine to them due to simple math.

[help] This Will Drive Me to Drink, Need WordPress Experts

And that’a a problem since

  1. The only beer I have in the house is one bottle of Guiness Stout and I’m more in a Heinekin mood.
  2. It’s currently near 10 am where I am.
  3. I haven’t had a drink since… um.

    Hm.

Let’s just say I’m not a big drinker. Anymore.

Here’s my problem. For some unknown reason, the WordPress portion of my site operates perfectly fine for a while as http://freetraffictip.com, but not www.freetraffitip.com.

Then, for seemingly no reason, it starts to choke periodically, and I have to go to General, Options to switch it over to www. Then for a while that will work and I have to change it again. Higher traffic seems to affect it adversely, but not cause it.

The rest of my site is completely unaffected.

Traffic Method #252 | BeFollowed

Here’s a very simple traffic method for anyone who has their own web site.

  1. Find the DoFollow Bloggers.
  2. Participate in their communities.

But alas, Simple is not the same thing as Easy. We shall come back to that point momentarily. First, let’s talk about why you should support DoFollow communties.

As recently discussed, DoFollow sites remove the “nofollow” attribute that prevents your site from being fully spidered by the search engines. So when you comment at a DoFollow site and leave your link, you could get a link back that not only sends traffic, but increases your number of external backlinks, which can help increase your search engine ranking, as well as your relevance on sites like Technorati.

Now, here we are, back at the “simple is not easy” thing.

Look at number two again. Note how it doesn’t say “leave a drive-by comment whose only purpose is to have a link back to you that contains your keyword.” :) It says “Participate in their communities.” Why the distinction?

Social Media Traffic – Is It About Titans Reciprocating? Or Vote Whoring? Or…

… is the word Social in there for a Reason?

You Scratch My BackI was reading a post on Sphinn just now. Kind of ironic that I chose to write a blog post about it, as you’ll soon see. When the content of my comments go over three paragraphs, I tend to extend them into posts.

That way that site gets a premium link and traffic in addition to my brain power. :)

The title of the post is If You Show Me Yours I’ll Show You Mine – The Backrub Effect.

Increase Your Website Sales with C.R.E.A.M. – Or If You Want to Make $100K, Try Making a Hundred Bucks First.

CREAM for all you non-hip-hop fans means Cash Rules Everything Around Me.

< rant > And by hip-hop, I don’t mean most of the often violent, sexist or unimaginative crap that mostly on the air today. If you think that is hip-hop, Happy Belated Birthday and congrats on being one day old. </ rant >

Typically I don’t write about making money online because I think most sites about making money through online marketing or other means miss the point entirely.

That point being that no matter how great your invention is, if it’s not popular, it won’t sell. You’d be better off doing something mediocre and selling it really cheap. Or even something really great, really cheap.

Which brings us to the purpose of this post.
