Hey, You're New Here! We love new people.
It would be great seeing you back again, so please subscribe by RSS feed, or get updates by email, before you forget!
There’s been a mad dash of people invading Twitter and it’s getting to the point where it would be neigh impossible to track every person of interest.
Enter Tweetmeme, a Techmeme for Twitter!
Just like Techmeme, Tweetmeme looks for hot topics and aggregates the conversations into a list so you can see at a glance what people are discussing.
By having hot topics and seeing at a glance what people are discussing, you can easily make your blog the ’site to visit’. You just might be the first ‘Twitter Celebrity’! but only if you get over to Tweetmeme.

As Gabe Rivera, builder of this software, says:
“At this moment, the next big story in technology may reside on a blog you’ve never heard of or a news site you don’t have time to scan……”
What a trip! Read more of what he has to say and how this can keep you on top of the ‘hill’.
WAIT! There’s more. Kinda like Christmas all over again. Two for the price of one. And it’s FREE.

Here’s a nifty tool that can help you get organized.
You can schedule text messages, remind others about at event, bring up birthday reminders and have your to-do items sent to you throughout the day - and a whole lot more.
And here’s something else for you to chew on - this tool was introduced to me by someone who commented on one of my previous Tool Time Friday’s.
If you don’t give, you don’t get. Get it?

A colleague of mine that I have been privileged to work closely with these last few months is featured prominently on Fast Company today.
Go. Read. Tell her I sent you. Learn why “Google is the new resume,” and what to do instead of Googlewashing.

What’s Googlewashing? Bet you wished you watched the video, huh?
Just kidding.
(Oh, feed subscribers, please click through if you can’t see the MSNBC video above.)
Googlewashing is the process of burying negative results about your company in Google. Some companies offer to go into Google and delete those results for you. Should you spend money on this? Probably not, and here’s why.
- People are going to be unsatisfied sometimes even if you do your absolute best. The important thing is what you do about it.
- Trying to look perfect is inauthentic.
- If it’s out there, even if it gets buried or “deleted”, there’s a copy on a server somewhere that will eventually pop up. Just because someone can get one copy to get deleted from a site, or move to page 11 from page 2 doesn’t mean it’s gone forever.
It’s smarter to first, address the problems. Listen to your clients. Win them over with your ability to listen. Look what it did for Dell. If there are negative results in Google about your company, Address Them. Every single negative mark against you can make you 100 new fans/potential clients if you take the time to turn them in your favor.
Once you’re addressed issues, instead of trying to get them deleted (which isn’t really possible anyway), overhwhelm the negative results with positive ones.
Even a little bit of marketing your expertise and proven results is better than trying to pretend some unfortunate incident never happened.
Believe me, I’ve been there. I’m still trying to patch up a couple of snafus from last year when I was sick. And from experience I’ll tell you that even if you can’t provide a ready solution, letting people know you plan to and showing that you’re an established company that won’t/can’t disappear overnight makes a big difference.
