Hey, You're New Here! We love new people.

It would be great seeing you back again, so please subscribe by RSS feed, or get updates by email, before you forget!

Firefox’s ‘MeasureIt’ is useful and very easy to use.

measureit-01.png

It places a small ruler icon at the left side of your status bar and when you click on the icon you get a crosshair cursor and your browsing  page fades out.  MOve over to the desired area or object you want to measure and drag out a box over it - the width and height of the box will be displayed in pixels close to the box.  To get out of MeasureIt, use the Escape key and the page reverts back to normal.

Simple.  And that suits me fine.

Some months back on Tool Time Friday, you were afforded the chance to get ‘parts’ of Adobe Photoshop for nada.

Now you can get the whole enchilada for nothing.  Zero. Zilch.

Here’s some info from the press release:

“The maker of the popular photo-editing software Photoshop on Thursday launched a basic version available for free online.

“While Photoshop is designed for trained professionals, Adobe says Photoshop Express, which it launched in a ‘beta’ test version, is easier to learn.  User comments will be taken into account for future upgrades.”

So go shoping - Photoshoping.

This Firefox add-on is probably the most important web development tool as it allows you to browse and tweak HTML, CSS and JavaScript on a desired web page and preview changes on the fly and so much more.

This is off topic -

I have a great site for you to visit and be able to not only download music videos, but be able to find the exact song you’re interested in, or your have a list of songs to down load from your favorite artist(s).

Once downloaded, you can make a DVD or a CD as this site will also let you listen to the song without the video.

I find this site a lot cleaner that YouTube, and so I’m giving this to you.  You’re welcome.

Tabbed browsing in Firefox lets you load web pages in separate tabs of a single browser window, so you can jump between them quickly and easily.

Cool!

Perhaps your reading a news story or visiting a blog and you want to follow an interesting link without loosing your place in the original story.  With this tool you can do this without filling your desktop with new, unorganized browser windows.

Good morning you happy people!

Okay, here’s the deal.

I don’t know how I got along without this add-on from FireFox.

Cooliris previews, gives you the ability to browse and share web links and media faster. Just put  your mouse over any link, and Presto! - you’ll be able to preview the content without opening it in a different window, or click on it to open it in the same window you’re in.

You can even email it with one simple click.  And there’s so much more.

Here you go!
