Clip:- “55% of adult internet users have looked for ‘how-to,’ ‘do-it-yourself’ or repair information online and about 7 mln people search for help on a typical day, Pew Internet & American Life Project says. More internet users seek do-it-yourself information online than participate in chat rooms (17%) or online auctions (24%). However, seeking do-it-yourself information online is a less common activity than getting news (72%) and doing research on products and services (78%).”
Thoughts: “DIY” and “buy” are grossly under-used focuses when targeting for keywords. It’s worth drilling down at Nichebot or Wordtracker to see if there is a semi-popular term for do-it-yourself and buy or purchase that relates to your business, particularly if it’s web based. For example, if a search for “do it yourself home improvements” at Nichebot yields a probablity of 297 visitors a day, and you sell, I don’t know, special reflective paints for DIY interior decorating… further research may indicate that there is a similiar term, with similiar traffic that is well suited to your site’s topic. Though paint is probably a bad example.
But you get the gist, yes?
