7 Reasons Why Your Podcast Listeners Aren’t Converting to Sales

  1. Your podcast doesn’t have a strong enough relationship to your web content.

  2. Your listeners haven’t heard your website address enough during the broadcast.
  3. You aren’t giving them an incentive to go to the site, to get more additional free information, to sign up for a newsletter that will enable them to get more audios, etc.

  4. You don’t announce on your blog (or else where on your site) when there are new shows.
  5. You are developing a “one-off” audience, instead of a subscriber base. Repeat listeners are more likely to visit resources you suggest, including your own.
  6. Your podcast doesn’t leave anything else on the table (either stop giving away the farm or get advertisers.)
  7. Your podcast isn’t reaching a wide enough audience (perhaps because you haven’t added your podcast to directories, or put in the right tags for Yahoo/iTunes to pick it up.)
