27,000 Visitors a Week? Ripoff or Real?

Here’s a link to the su.pr traffic video if you are viewing this post via a syndication channel and can’t see the video above.

The video above is some of  StumbleUpon traffic, specifically the traffic I drove using su.pr. In the example above, the numbers average to about 5000 Stumbles a week, and I’m not a Power Stumbler by any stretch.

That’s not even traffic I got for myself, it’s for other people.

[video] UberVu vs Topsy

Quick video I did on UberVu vs Topsy.

I normally use Tweetmeme and BackType Connect to follow social media conversations about my site. But these were worth a mention, as I love anything that will link back to my blog when someone’s tweeted about me.

[article & video] Is Facebook Testing Removal of the 5000 Friend Limit?

About a week ago, I got to the Facebook limit of “friends” one can have on Facebook. I’m really particular about how I friend on Facebook, so it took me a lot longer than most people who have mailing lists and popular web sites.

Meaning that unlike other people who got to the limit from (more…)

Quick Announcements Regarding the Facebook Videos & Status of Sites

Before we continue, I want to let you know I’m aware of the video embed problem with videos from my Facebook fan page.

Apparently even if you embed a video to a page, which is supposed to be visible to Everyone even outside of Facebook, some people still can’t see it.

So I’m uploading the videos to our free member site over at Leveraged Promotion, and using that embed code to feature them here.

If you couldn’t see Why Facebook Matters, The Psychological Side of the Facebook Experience, or Leveraging Your Profile via News Feed vs Other People’s Profile Promotion (otherwise known as Why Facebook Spam Fails), the new embeds visible to everyone are now live at those links.

You can become a fan of mine at Facebook to see all the videos in the series in one place. If you’re looking to be able to connect with me directly and don’t know me yet, that’s your best bet.

Technically speaking, where does the experience of Facebook largely take place? See why you can get better results posting to your own profile (which updates the news feed that goes out to your connections) rather than publishing on other people’s profiles.

[video] In the Mind of Your Facebook Connections

When you’re learning how to get information into a conversation or activity stream, it helps to understand what’s already going on in that stream. If you were going fishing in a natural lake, the bait you use will probably work best if it’s something fish like to eat or would be attracted to the “ooo shiny” aspect of – and you can’t judge whether or not your bait is good if you don’t know what that is.

Tonight, I’m answering all comments on this thread with a video response. I’m looking rather cute today, LOL!

[video] Successful Fishermen Fish Where the Fish Are – Why Facebook Matters

Find more videos like this on Website Promotion for Regular Folks

Why should you care about Facebook as a business person? Because Facebook users have already done the job of sorting themselves out and congregating in a place where you can reach them in a predictable fashion.

Fish where the fish are if you want to be a successful fisherman. (Update: Fishing involves putting out bait and letting fish come to you, not running after fish in a boat with a bullhorn, shouting into the water. If you watch the video, you’ll see a bit of why marketing on Facebook really isn’t marketing at all.)

Musings on VideoEgg’s Innovative Web Video Ads

This morning, I read today’s TechCrunch’s article on VideoEgg and how they have introduced some smart options for web video advertising.

I won’t go into all of the details of it here, but VideoEgg has come up with several options that don’t lean on pre-roll and post-roll. In addition, to emphasize engagement, you don’t have to pay for the ad unless the person watching it takes an action. If they don’t interact with the video ad, it costs you Nothing. Think of what that can do for your branding.

The way the ads are displayed in the examples, you can also see how the ads, muted but playing when the visitor arrives, can be served on regular web pages.
