Dear Fellow Blogger,
I'm willing to bet
that you'd like to generate more traffic with your blog posts.
I'd double the wager
on the fact that you'd like that traffic to translate into more sales.
In writing guides
about the solution to both of these problems, I've found that you can't
get good results for either without learning one critical skill.
Because there's no
doubt about it - Business Blogging is here to stay.
You must be able to
produce a successful business blog to stay competitive in the search
engines, in customer service, and to generate traffic, sales
and leads ahead of your competition.
Now, I'm not going
sit here and tell you that every business person shold blog. Some
people and companies just aren't cut out for it.
However, I can predict
for this coming year what I predicted last year; there isn't a business
out there that can't use business blogging to crush its competition
in the search engines, in leads generated and sales made.
But the game is changing
dramatically as we enter 2007.
The competition is
no longer about who starts blogging first. If you haven't started
blogging by now, you've probably lost that battle to your competition.
But the war isn't
over.

Blogging in 2007 is About Being the Best
You can beat your
nearest competitor by starting a business blog. It's just not about
being the first out of the starting gate anymore.
So, even if you're
a year late hopping on the business blog bandwagon, you can still
win the traffic and sales wars - by making a better blog.
You can produce
content that your audience likes the best, you can do more
of it, and you can do it better than your competition.
If you can be the
first to blog in your industry or niche, all the better. But if
you missed the initial wave of business blogging, your only hope is to
be the best.
If you write more
content, you have more pages to get top rankings in the search engines
- each page of your blog can be targeted to rank for a unique term.
If you produce
that content faster, you can manage your time better. Get in,
blog, and get back to the rest of your business.
And if you have the
best content, there's no reason why your client needs to follow
two blogs on the same topic, is there?
Do you have eight
favorite news shows, or do you generally stick with one?
It's the same logic.
We all wish we had
time to follow several hundred different sources for the information
we need right now. But we tend to pick two or three, and normally end
up with one. We subscribe to a few favorite magazines and pick up the
rest every now and then.
And whether we realize
it or not, it's those newspapers, TV shows, channels, web sites, even
our email or ISP providers, that influence our buying decisions.
That's why you've
got to be the best one - and by being the best, in our time-crunched
world, you'll end up being the only pretty quickly. All you've got to
do is keep delivering.
Here's the problem: What you need to do is easy to explain. How
to generate great blog content, better than the next guy, and still
have time to perform your regular business functions?
Ask any A-list blogger,
and they'll tell you it's an art form, one you have to learn right now.
You'll get a few step by step tips, but not a comprehensive lesson.
Until now.

You don't need
to be a genius, or a journalist to create a blog that is the best
of its kind. You don't necessarily need the most content, or to be the
first blogger in your niche- though under certain circumstances, it helps.
What you need is to
find out what your audience wants, and give it to them in
a way they'll become addicted to - that's the critical thing
you need to know to get the most traffic from business blogging, and
to use it as a lead generator.
You must have great,
original content.
With great content,
you can become a part of your visitor's daily routine, as a trusted
source of information and assistance. That will earn you the right to
help them buy from you as well.
And there is the secret
of business blogging, and why it is so crucial to your online business
strategy - the relationship you can create with your customers by providing
this service is one that money can't buy.
