There’s an event coming up this week that you should make arrangements to attend on Thursday morning from 8:00 am to 10:30 am in the Washington DC area. Everyone who needs small business expertise on marketing should register now.
If you’ve been paying attention over the past year or so, you’ve probably seen me announce the Web.com Small Business Forum events before on several occasions, as well as the annoucnement that the tour is now nationwide and now includes even more expertise from members of SCORE.
(Web.com is a client via Women Grow Business, which is the Web.com publication. They didn’t ask me for so much as a retweet– I’m posting this of my own free will. As always, I’ll only suggest resources I genuinely believe that you’ll find helpful.)
Of course if you are familiar with those blog posts, you are likely not surprised at how excited I am to see the tour come to the Washington DC area. It’ll be here on Thursday morning, bright and early at 8 am, at the Bethesda Country Club.
What’s that? You’re unaware of how great this event could be for your business? Here are some quick facts:
Web.com’s Small Business forum is designed to give small business owners free help with marketing, including search and social media
Web.com Speaker – Andrew Gorrin, SVP Marketing and Ike Leggett, County Executive of Montgomery County will be speaking
There’s a Q and A session and networking afterwards
You can be part of my entourage at the event if you hurry up and sign up, then email or text me.
Of course if you’ve lived in the DC area for any longer than a year and you go to area events, you know the three truths of DC event planning.
It’s darn near impossible to get people to come to events on a weekday during working hours, especially if the venue’s not metro-accessible
People in our area under-value events that are free.
If you take advantage of those two facts and show up anyway, your business can grow by leaps and bounds from the free education being given away in our area.
That’s why you should register to attend now, and arrange to sit with my group.
One of two things is going to happen.
People are going to find out about this quiet event and the room will be filled to capacity with the kind of small business owners who can afford to be out of the office on a Thursday morning.
Or it will be a cozy gathering of small business owners who are the upcoming area movers and shakers and everyone who attends will get individual attention from the speakers. Add that to what you stand to learn from the attending experts, and you can’t lose.
Not to mention we can get to know each other face to face. There’s also a free breakfast, and – attention golf fans – Two (2) Free Mid Atlantic Championship Tickets for each attendee.
So here’s what you need to do now.
First, sign up to attend. No, you can’t just show up.
Second, let me know that you’re attending by leaving me a message with your name and your website. You can call during regular office hours at 1.855.227.5852, or you can text us at 702.508.8468.
Remember, please leave your name and your website at least, so I’ll know you when you walk up to me at the event. Leave your number if you want to know where we’re sitting on Thursday. It’s not mandatory of course – you can’t possibly miss me.
Third, tell your friends. Please do me a favor and share this post with at least one other business owner. I’m not being graded on how many people attend, as this is not my area. It’s been my experience that having someone who was at the event to discuss what you’ve learned with later, is an invaluable asset.
See you there!
