The tool of the day, of course, is your Google API Key.
Where else to use it? Try these on for size.
(Haven’t checked all these links since June. If any are broken, please let me know. I’ll be updating this page on an on-going basis, as a Google API Appendix to the article I wrote. )

Spell check for your site
“The Google web API “spell check” allows you to send a string of text and receive alternatives for misspelled words. The power in this web API is that the Google dictionary includes technology words that are used in website searches, but may not have been included in a Standard English dictionary.â€
Google API Search
You can also add Google searches to your site. It’s the number one search engine, and especially if you have a member’s area, it can help make your site “sticky”, meaning that your visitors will find themselves coming to your site over and over to use your resources, as many people like to have search engine capabilities on their home page. You should know that Gooogle also offers something similiar on their page.

Google API Relation Browsing Outliner
http://www.staggernation.com/garbo/readme.html
You can study the relationship between your sites and others using GARBO (stands for Google API Relation Browsing Outliner). This can help you find sites to trade links with, or sites you can link to from your site to provide more information to your visitors, and otherwise study the relationship between two sites, as told by Google.
