I love the movie Mommie Dearest. Ah, the benefits of having a home based business… for the last few days anytime anyone asks me why in AIM I say…
“Because I am NOT one of your faaaaaansss!!”
I know it’s a true story, and I do have sympathy for Christina Crawford (who is still writing) – but the actors are over the top by today’s standards in a way that comes across as comical to me.
But you came here for Google News, right?
By now you already know that Google was down for some time this weekend. Why?
“Because I am NOT one of your faaaaaansss!!”
Sorry. I promise I won’t do it again. Click the link and you’ll find out the answer.
Today.
Anyway, everyone is talking about that, like it’s some kind of emotional betrayal for a site to be down. I say, take your thumb out of your mouth. It will be okay. Uncurl from the fetal ball and take some deep breaths.
Our traffic news today is in a thread I read recently, posted on the 22nd at SearchEngineWatch’s forums that asks a darn good question – Is the recent change to link bomb the sign of a new link analysis shift over at Google?
It’s along the lines of a theory of mine… if you want people to link to you using certain text, your site really should be focused on that keyword, not gratuitously, but as an appropriate summation of your site. Read the whole thread – for that matter join their forums. There’s great information there, often presented from all sides of an issue.
