Free Traffic Tips : Status : Transitions

I’ve been away for a long time, I know. It couldn’t be avoided. I had to deal with some health issues that were getting pretty serious. I was discharged from the hospital this past Saturday, and recovering well from the last episode – thank you for all your cards and letters.

This last period of being off the map really got to me, and I’ve had to do some soul-searching, which has resulted in handing the keys to my web empire over to some trusted colleagues. The best way to explain why is probably in telling you what my intentions are, and have always been, for this web site, the flagship of my family of sites.

We live in a really special time in history. If you can get someone to loan you their computer from time to time, you can start a business without a product, without inventory, without capital, and bootstrap your way to a full time business.

I know this, because I’ve been the person with extreme circumstances, looking at my used computer and trying to figure out how to make my rent come out of it. When I learned how to make a living online, the biggest realization I had was that if you understand how to get buying traffic in a way that costs less than what you’re selling, you’ve basically learned how to create money. The cheaper you can get good quality visitors, the more money you get to keep.

Once I figured this out for myself, my dream was to start my own business in which I would be able to help people earn a living, or get better results in their existing online business.  And I saw that the way to this dream was to teach people about traffic, even better, free traffic. There weren’t many freely accessible or inexpensive resources covering how to get traffic at that time. If you ask me, there still aren’t enough good ones today.

Over the past four years, my dream of teaching this in a systematic way, to a great many people, became a reality many times over, but not without its fair share of flaws. There were two problems, really.

First, the business grew faster than I could keep up with and second, my on-going problems with my back meant that my progress in developing this resource would be inconsistent. These past eight months have been especially hard. I haven’t had this many health problems since before I went into business for myself. There came a point where I had to decide – did I want to be healthy, or did I want to continue trying to do it all myself?

Because of two very special people, I don’t have to make that choice. I can focus on my health and this project can continue, probably in a greater way than I ever could myself.

As of the 14th of April, I’ve gone into semi-retirement. My colleagues, and now friends, Morgan and Cindy Lighter are going to take over Free Traffic Tips and its family of sites. I’ll still be around, although first I intend to catch up with commitments I made before I got sick this last time and see them through to fruition. I thank you so much for your patience with me so far.

You’ll meet the Lighters here soon – let me tell you what I think of them.

Cindy is an organizational genius and pays very close attention to detail. All of the great things I wanted to do when I reopened the membership site, she will implement with far more grace than I ever could. She’s also one of the most patient people I have ever met, which helps when you have to translate technobabble into human languages.

Morgan has a keen understanding of finance – most people never see the connection between online traffic and making money online except in a very superficial way. He is personable in the truest sense of the word, and has a very friendly writing style that makes iyou feel like you’re across the table having a cup of coffee with him.

They’re both quite professional, without being stuffy.

It is literally not possible for me to leave you in more capable hands.

Over the next year, I’ll still be in the background. I’ll be posting occassionally over the next few weeks, while you get to know the new owners. And I’m not leaving the internet entirely, I’m just leaving internet marketing now, and in about a year, web site promotion/SEO and everything that has to do with traffic. I’ll still be blogging, but about other topics, at other sites.

Morgan and Cindy will start out by releasing some products I had on the shelf, and re-releasing some material that wasn’t previously available internationally. Then we’re going to work together on some ventures so you can witness their talent. And by next April, after my big birthday send-off, this will primarily be their show, though, with their permission, I’ll pop my head in a few times a year.

Thank you for four years of absolute treasure. The letters and testimonials you write to me – these are the things I will cherish and remember always. You make me feel like I made a small difference in the world and it is truly humbling.

I also want to thank the larger corporations that hired me through LeveragedPromotion.com as part of bigger projects – they made it possible for me to keep prices low for smaller projects with small business.

I appreciate each and every person who ever stopped by to read this blog or my newsletter. I started to make lists of names, until I realized I’d be here for hours. So I’ll just say this…. see you around the web.
