Freedom Fridays: Enhancing Your Present Feed

The problem

Your feed is automated, maybe it’s a blog feed or one that came with your CMS program. You want to make more posts, because that may mean more traffic to your pages, because readers will have more headlines to choose from. But you don’t want to make gratuitous posts to your blog that just point to other links. Or, you just want a way to incorporate links from your other feed into the master feed.

The solution

If you use FeedBurner to track your feed statistics, you can sign up for del.icio.us, a free service that will splice the links you choose from into your “burned” feed for you.

With their handy bookmarklet, at the click of a button you can add any link from your site (or someone else’s) to your feed. You can even add descriptions and change the title of the page to something that piques more interest. Works with Mozilla and IE.
