Not sure what you mean as far as paying attention to search engine traffic, but you are in a site that at one time barely updated once a month for about a year and kept all its rankings. It’s not an isolated incident either, as I’ve seen that happen for many of my clients, for competitive keywords as well.

Most of my articles are high quality, at least that’s what people tell me, but it’s a myth that they have to be unique to each site. To each author, yes. But think about it.. if you publish your article to your site, or to an authority site that can get better rankings than you first, wait for it to be indexed and then submit it for syndication, whose content is the duplicate? Everyone who comes after you.

Plus, and I’ve been saying this for years, it’s a duplicate content FILTER not a penalty.

As always though, I say don’t believe this or that thing just because I said so or some other expert said so – test it for yourself, and become your own expert. If you test this out, you’ll see for yourself.
