Google Adsense and RSS – Courtesy of Rodney

My good friend Rodney had me taking yet another look at Google’s Blog early this morning, as I was down for the count by the time this announcement came out yesterday:

Here’s a quote from the Google Blog:

“… AdSense for feeds, launching today in beta. The idea is simple: advertisers have their ads placed in the most appropriate feed articles; publishers are paid for their original content; readers see relevant advertising – and in the long run, more quality feeds to choose from. Given the great flexibility that feeds can offer, it’s essential to get the model right, especially so that readers are satisfied. Towards this end we have outlined what we believe are some best practices for advertising in feeds.”

There’s a public beta you can apply to participate in here. There’s more news on that front from Clickz, and as soon as Rodney, guru of all things related to Adwords and Adsense, gets around to talking about it (it may be today if he’s not too busy), I’ll have a link up to his discussion as well.

And here’s more from Search Engine Journal.
