Google and AOL :: You’re Thinking It.- BusinessWeek’s Rob Hot said it.

The question? What’s the deal with this whole where Google reportedly paid a Billion dollars for a 5% stake in AOL? And why are they giving up all these free ads to AOL?

Clip ==> “Even after trolling through the massive coverage through memeorandum, something doesn’t feel right. If anyone can identify just what Google’s getting that’s worth risking its reputation (deserved or not) as the best search site, I’m sure readers here would love to hear it….”

Thoughts ==> They know or see something we don’t. That Has to be it – there are details undisclosed to us regular folk, that if brought to light, would lend sense to all this. It can’t just be to pry them loose from Microsoft.

Can it?

Link ==> Why Was Google So Desperate for AOL?: If you have an idea of what the answer might be, like he says, you’re welcome to comment. I almost got sucked in reading some pretty good slants on the issue over in the comments section there, already.
