Google News:: Google Messing with PageRank, Search Relevancy

Clip ==> “What is apparently a Google experiment in a new way to determine search relevancy, seemingly commercial listings are appearing among organic search results, but demarcated by horizontal lines, reports ClickZ (via MarketingVox).”

Link ==> Full story in Media Buyer Planner.

Thoughts ==> I’d noticed some strange looking results lately, For example, if you do a search for the word promotion, you’ll notice all kinds of fun things that go with the first organic listing (one of my favorite sites, Promotion World). And I thought it was because I had my personalized Google turned on, but when I logged out, there were still the neat links under the listing for “Login” – “MSN Keyword Ranking”
“More Free Tools” – “Google PageRank Tool”, “More results from www.promotionworld.com »”. Neat, but not exactly a commercial looking listing.

So I’m thinking that’s different from what’s in this article and I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled.
