Intro to Ezine Day

An Ezine for Your Site

One of the biggest “understood” facts about the Internet is that it’s not the World Wide Web itself that can make you the biggest money. It’s having the largest, happiest database of double-opt-in subscribers that can generate a residual income. And no, they don’t have to be accessing your information through email – they can be RSS subscribers too. But we’ll get into RSS later on in this series.

Some people with great ezines don’t even feel the need to have sites. They find out what you’re interested in, join some affiliate plans related to it, mix in free information about it, and start an ezine. Not to mention the revenue you can make from advertising. I’ll give you examples of good ezines to join shortly.

There are resources all over the Net about how to start an ezine, as well as tools to help you format it correctly and what kinds of issues you will run into as a result.

I could easily write a book on just that alone, but someone already has.

So we’ll be focusing on what to do with your ezine once you have it.

If you don’t already have an ezine, you can create one at Topica.com or YahooGroups.com to get started. Create a mailing list, or a moderated discussion list, and use a secondary address to run it so you won’t get swamped with emails.
