Yes. It’s Tuesday, and that means today is Search Engine Day here at Free Traffic Tips. If you’re subscribed via feed, you’ve already seen six notifications from me on more marginal (but no less important) search engine news and links. I’ve been up all night outlining a new book and a few new articles, so we’re going to take it short and sweet for the top of the day - then I’ll be back later with news that needs more detail.

First up today is an interesting and timely article at ISEDB.com about getting your site positioned for Christmas. Should you already be thinking about it this soon? In a word? Yes. If it will take three months to get a solid position in the searches you want, that will put you at October. And of course, I’m already thinking about ordering Christmas cards, etc for my business associates and clients - it’s not too early to put up the Christmas lights on your site if you’re looking to get business from those who plan ahead.

Clip ==> “Savvy retailers are taking advantage of the ever expanding online audience afforded via search marketing and Internet advertising. Retailers who once had a localized marketplace are now competing with retailers from around the world for customers. Regardless of the fact that nobody’s real-world store is starting to look a lot like Christmas yet, the race for strong search engine placements for Christmas related items begins this month. Is your website positioned to achieve the visibility it needs to give you the Christmas season you want for your business?”
