One of the concerns with article marketing I hear quite frequently, is often the worry that an article you publish on your own site, if submitted around the same time to article directories, will get you filtered out by search engines like Google, for publishing duplicate content.
There are a few very specific things you can do to prevent this from even being a worry, as I discuss in my latest course on High Profile Article Marketing. However, the article below touches on some important points as well.
Clip: “More and more webmasters are building websites with publicly available content (data feeds, news feeds, articles). This results in websites with duplicate content on the Internet.
In cases of websites build on news feeds or data feeds you can even find websites that match each other 100% (except for the design). Several copies of the same content in a search engine does not really do any good and so Google apparently decided to weed out some of this duplicate content to be able to deliver cleaner and better search results.”
Thoughts: Good news for the original publishers of blogs and rss feeds – it’s about time the duplicate content filter kicked out pages that only exist to harvest other people’s content without even linking back.
Bad news if you are in the position of trying to leverage another site’s power to get you more traffic. But again, this is avoidable. Start with the tips in that article. Then take the free article writing course for the basics on the rest.
