Mulligatawny Monday – Big Hat , No Cattle! – Those who talk the talk, but can’t walk the walk!

We’ve all met ‘em.

Those people who think they know it all and to show off their knowledge, they actually show off their ignorance. They really have no interest in helping you, they just want to impress you.

These so called experts shout from the roof tops -

“Look At Me, I’m Cool!”, “Buy My Book – It Will Make You Rich!”, “I’ve Got The Secret To Help You To Do Whatever!”,”My Method Is So Easy Even A Caveman Can Do It”! Yadda, yadda, yadda. Horsefeathers.

True story -

Some time ago I wanted to learn how to play golf. I decided to seek out a teaching pro and take lessons. After several lessons and months at the driving range, my instructor decided that I was proficient enough to play a round of golf so off we went.

Suffice it to say I did pretty well and within 3 years had a 8 handicap. Goodie for me, but that’s not the point.

One day I went to the course (Torry Pines, CA) and since I was by myself the starter said I could join the 3-some that were to tee-off in about 20 mintues. I said okay, paid my green fees and went to introduce myself to the 3-some. Suprisingly, I knew one of the 3 guys but had never played golf with him.

After the first hole, I knew that these guys were, well, to put it bluntly, lousy. The guy who I knew asked I could give him some pointers while we were playing. I told him, as nicely as I could, that I was not a pro, that he should see a pro and visit the driving range as often as he could, and , that you don’t give lessons while playing golf.

One of the other golfers overheard our conversation and he volunteered to show him how to play. (The blind leading the blind). The way this guy talked, you might have thought he invented the game. What a debacle. If it wasn’t for the fact that I didn’t know this guy, I would have told him that …. well, never mind what I would have said – …..!

He could talk the talk but couldn’t walk the walk.

Here’s the point -(finally)

Most of you know that Tinu is the “Queen of The Blogging Universe”. If you don’t know, you’ll soon realize that what I said is only the half of it. Tinu has walked that walk and therefore can talk the talk. She could actually scream the dream!

Tinu’s heart is bigger than a ’56 Buick sedan. She often cares more about others than herself. That’s partly why she’s going through (health wise) what she’s going through.

Neither Tinu, Cindy or I would ever b.s. you. (I wanted to spell that our but I was worried I might offend someone).

There is nothing we will teach, show, sell, advise, recommend, demonstrate, talk about that we haven’t checked out to the max. We might point you to an article that is interesting, but unless we have given that article a complete checkup, including MRI, CT, CAT, EEG, EKG, ETC. then we will not endorse it…..ever!

SO, the next time you need a “lesson” – stop in. We’ll make sure you become a “pro”.
