More PlugIM Weekend – The PlugIM Tool Belt

Have you listened to the Exclusive PlugIM Interview?

If not, go do it. We had a ball and all the cool people are talking about it. :)

If so, you may enjoy some of the tools we mentioned during the interview that go with the site.

Ordinarily, I’d split these up into three or more separate posts.

But I decided to keep the interview on the front page for another day without using Adhesive, which seems to be interupting our ability to get auto-included on resources that follow us.

Thanks for the indulgence, and here’s….

The PlugIM Toolbelt!

WARNING: May cause copious amounts of traffic gushing to your site. Not reccommended for use by whiners or those who hate to take proactive action to build relationships as well as traffic. For external use only. Use as directed by me, because I know everything

The PlugIM Widget

How Does It Make Your Life Better?

Essentially, it gives you the code to insert that sexy button you see in the upper left hand or lower left hand corner of this post, depending on whether I’ve resolved my design issues by the time you read this. Also see sexxxy pic below – that’s it to your left, indicating how proud I am to be the new owner of 10 plugs for an earlier post.

plugIM is sessy

My 3 Sentence Review

I don’t want to get Dugg any time soon, but I love getting feedback from people even when they’re too shy or overwhelmed with my absolute rightness on all things traffic to post. Having the button there makes it easier on your visitors. I only wish there was a mini-badge shiny version.

The PlugIM WordPress Plug-In

How Is It Better Than Sex?

A genius plug-in created by the smart and lovely Michelle MacPhearson, because she’s better than you. Sorry, just checking if you’re still awake, I’m sure you already know that she’s better than you, me, all of us really.

LOL… sorry… I’m just so amused by myself and overly self-involved today, even for me. :) Of course there’s really no one on the whole planet better than me or my huge wego.

Seriously though, I was sincere about the smart and lovely part, and she’s done the Net Marketing community a great service for providing a way to include the plug-in without touching the code.

My One Sentence Review

It’s a bit hard to make it do happy things with overly-hacked 1.0 templates like mine, but if you have a normal, sexy, widgetized theme like most Pressers do, you’ll be a’ight.

The PlugIM Google Toolbar Button

How Does It Bring Peace and Harmony to the World?

You get a button on the Google Toolbar that submits a site to PlugIM, Googles PlugIM, and gives you a shortcut to recent plugins. Mine does my laundry too, but how I get it to do that is classified.

My Four Sentence Review

I heart this button, it’s simple and it does what it says it will do. If you want one for your site, one of the Hidden Google Traffic Videos I made is about how to make your own Google Toolbar Buttons, even if you’re not a techie – though I know there’s a site that will do it for you for $20 I can’t remember it.

And here’s ours, in case you were wondering. :)

Extra (read: we didn’t talk about it on the call) The Post to PlugIM Bookmarklets

How Does It Give You Everlasting Joy?

If you want to Plug stories other than your own, the bookmarklets make it easy to include them for sites that are neglecting their button duties. I was one of those sites recently, so I’m not laying blame… I’m constantly testing what is worthwhile Button/Widget Schwag on our site and you should too.

My Three Sentence Review

In general, bookmarklets are my best friend. Specifically, this was a simple way to make things easier. But you’ve got to keep your bookmarklets accessible, or once you start collecting them, you won’t use ‘em. I like to keep all of the ones I’ve collected at various sites in a folder on my bookmarks bar in any browser I use.

Stay tuned for a post about getting more out of your PlugIM experience, after which I’ll probably go to my lovely, lovely bed. :)
