Podcasting Is A Promotional Tool

That’s the magic of it, pure and simple. It’s another way to deliver your message. You don’t have to do a full-fledged internet radio broadcast. If you’d like you can just publish audio tips from time to time.

Will podcasting ever make money in and of itself?

Some say never, I say it remains to be seen. Those who do internet radio shows and develop broadcasts that resonate with people have the chance to charge for exposure in the form of commercials. Some say we’re far off from that day – to them I say, listen to sites that are already doing it (and have been often a year or more before podcasting began to gain popularity).

That shouldn’t be your focus though, if you have an online business that gets more exposure. At least, not in the way that you may think. (But we’ll get to that in one of the the quick guides.)

What you need to be thinking about, is whether you have a site whose sales are tied into a prospect’s search for information. If you’re a consultant, sell services that can be researched on the web, or have a product that can be related to the search for information, such as a book or ebook, or any are in any market that benefits from article marketing, you just might find podocasting a worthwhile endeavor.

And now you can deliver that message often as easily as you would make a phone call. It’s literally that easy now – you pick up the phone, speak, record. Or if you’re already familiar with audio, if you can create an audio file and upload it, you can podcast.

Furthermore, instead of spending so much time figuring out how to get your message out to other people, you can have them standing by waiting for it. Since podcasting’s delivery system is RSS, it’s not just delivery of your marketing or promotional message in audio. It’s syndicated delivery.
