Speaking of Rodney Rumford

I’m spending this weekend giving thanks. This post is part of that mission.

I cringe to think of where I’d be without Rodney. He’s always there to point me in the direction of the next hot thing. We’ve been parters in online exploration since 2003. In typical Rodney fashion, he hunted down my phone number and called me up to compliment me on a book he’d just bought from me… knowing full well that he was qualified to be writing one. He very quickly became the go-to guy for business and corporate podcasting, working with companies such as Simon and Schuster, and building resources like Podblaze.

As far as business experience, he comes from a totally different world than I do. The people he often rubs shoulders with, I’d be amazed to meet even in my dreams. For some reason though, he’s incredibly generous in a desire to share all those contacts with me. He meets someone he thinks may be pivotal to my growth and he harasses me until I meet them. :) What a guy.

The latest project he’s got cranking is FaceReviews, a site that does coverage of Facebook Applications. (I write there occasionally.) He was the first one with the idea of dedicating an entire site to just the Facebook Applications, and the site is a favorite of developers and users alike.

You’ve helped me out of jams so many times, Rodney, and even better, helped to put me in situations where I wouldn’t keep getting into them. Thank you, Rodney. It’s an honor to be your colleague and friend.

  • Aw man, Rodney... is it make Tinu cry day again? I might have to make a whole other post about that comment. You're the cool kid I want to be if I grow up. (Go look at Liz's profile. She's got a great question up.)
  • Hey Tinu,
You are welcome my friend. I think the world of you and you have helped me in many ways and have been a great consulting partner. The thanks goes both ways. You inspire me and whack me in the side of the head when i need it. ;)

Thanks for helping at FaceReviews when I was out of the country. Much Appreciated. You can add your insights about facebook anytime!

    cheers!

    Rodney
