My name’s Tinu, and I’m a feedaholic.

I love the sophisticated surfers I get to my site via my own feed, I love how much the search engine spiders love my feeds, and I simply adore reading sites via their RSS Feeds. I do the majority of my research for my column that way.

If your site doesn’t have one and you want to be featured in one of my daily columns, you’re out of luck. It isn’t that there aren’t great sites out there with great tools out there that aren’t feed-capable, it’s just that now that I use web feeds as my primary source of news, unless your site was featured in someone else’s feed, it just wouldn’t occur to me.

To folks like me, your site is effectively invisible, unless you happen to come up on the first page of a search, and since I know where to go to find the information I want quickly, I don’t use a search engine on a daily basis.

True story.

But why should you care. I’m just one isolated surfer, a special case, a techie, a feed nut.

Wrong friend.

We feed readers may be in the minority for now, but we’re a powerful, educated, relatively wealthy group of consumers. In my free course about RSS , I’ll tell you the demographics as quoted from a study done by blogads.com – it’s a little skewed because of the pool of consumers they surveyed, but it’s no less telling of the group studied.

Some hints: we’re a middle-aged group with the money to spend on your premium products. The way you might skim past a product priced at $3.99 is the way we might skip over a $25 ebook – particularly if we can hire someone to do the work for us, for the same reason: we’re looking for a balance of quality and price.

I’m not pointing this out to be mean, or insinuate that your site is less than top quality. I’m just telling you what you’re missing by not having a feed on your site.

Part Three: Making Your Site Ready for the Traffic

This is where the high traffic keyword comes in.

First get the form you use to get a subscriber configured at your site. It should be an autorepsonder program that will re-direct the prospect to your sales page as confirmation. If you don’t have one, then you can use a Remotely Hosted: Form Processor – just make sure you pick one that returns the visitor to a page at your site.

With the remotely hosted option, there is, of course, always the danger that they won’t come back. Just be sure and make it clear that they’ll be subscribed to your ezine, because that’s what the form is for.

I’d suggest you get one that resides on your server and will direct the prospect to a page of your choosing. I believe the one on this page does the trick but I haven’t tested it, so don’t quote me.

Name the page that this resides on with your high traffic keyword, and be sure to use this keyword in the title, and as the only keyword this page is focused on. It doesn’t need to be hyper-optimized. (For the right level of optimization, read my free 37 page Google optimization booklet.) You’ll want to work it into the content without being too obvious. Try reading it aloud to yourself – if it sounds ridiculous it probably reads that way too.

On this page, you should have some kind of offer that will lure your visitor into subscribing to your ezine – but here’s the thing. Your list needs to be of high value to the person who is targeted to this keyword. So if nothing else, your very next issue should be about this topic or closely related to it.

Now make all the content on that page related to the article you’re going to submit, OR part two of the article you’re wriitng. If you article ended up being more than 800 words, or is between 700 and 1000 words, you can get away with turning this article into two parts.

The page they should land on after they read this should be the product, or service your selling – whatever the action is you want them to take is the only thing these two pages should be about.

Much more effective than sending them to your home page – unless this is already your home page’s only function, as it would be with a mini-site. In which case, that can be the confirmatin page.

Okay, so for the most part, the system is all set up. What do you need to add to your article to make this work for you?

That’s right. An extremely targeted rexource box. We’ll talk about how this system will work, then the resource box in the next few tips.

People were asking me this all the time “are there free ways that I can get traffic to my site, and if so, what are they?”

These are people who have heard or read somewhere that you can’t get free traffic online, and are pleasantly surprised to hear otherwise, OR people who know that it’s possible, want it, but may not be willing to pay the price.

Did you catch it? That was another hint about the biggest free traffic secret – you WILL pay a price. It may not be monetary, but you’ll pay. Either you’ll pay to get the knowledge, you’ll pay for the free knowledge in time, or you’ll pay with the time it takes to distribute your free knowledge – holding the biggest piece of the puzzle back.

With that last one, I’ve learned how to distribute my free knowledge in a way that leads the person who is really serious about investing in their business – either with time or money – back to my site.

I’ve been called crazy, to my e-face, for giving out so much free information. And from their perspective, they’re right. I am nuts. Why should I give it away when I can charge people for it?

Well they can keep on calling me crazy. I know something they don’t know, and it’s the reason I can sit here in my p.j.’s, when they have to get ready for work, even on this US holiday. Besides that, I’ve got, almost literally, a million of these free tips. I can write about them forever.

And here’s why it seems a little off. 90% of the people who read my column will never, ever, buy anything from me.

Ever.

That’s because they don’t realize that while the several thousand pieces of information I have or have found, will help you in the short run, but for both long-term and short-term results, the only way to get the kind of results I have is to duplicate what I’ve done, and these are techniques I reveal in my books.

This doesn’t bother me. I’ve tried to make my main web sites a resource for new webmasters, a collection of legitimate free traffic resources, with reviews of their results, like there used to be all over the Net in the early 90s, what I like to call “the old days”. When my site can help people who can’t afford my books, it sincerely makes my heart tingly and my chest poke out in pride.

Hopefully when they’re ready for the best results, they won’t forget me.

In the meantime, I like to focus the majority of my attention on that 10% that really, really get it, that know that while getting my tips one at a time will help, my low-price premium information will explode their results exponentially.
