I’m back again, continuing the Facebook Business Basics series.
If you went to my Facebook page, you saw two videos about how you can find people on Facebook who may be interested in you and let them come back to your site. This video talks about what to do once you have someone viewing your profile. (more…)
(You may need to click through to the original post if the video isn’t showing up. You can also click the lower right corner of the video to go full screen.)
Technically speaking, where does the experience of Facebook largely take place? See why you can get better results posting to your own profile (which updates the news feed that goes out to your connections) rather than publishing on other people’s profiles.
When you’re learning how to get information into a conversation or activity stream, it helps to understand what’s already going on in that stream. If you were going fishing in a natural lake, the bait you use will probably work best if it’s something fish like to eat or would be attracted to the “ooo shiny” aspect of – and you can’t judge whether or not your bait is good if you don’t know what that is.
Tonight, I’m answering all comments on this thread with a video response. I’m looking rather cute today, LOL!
Why should you care about Facebook as a business person? Because Facebook users have already done the job of sorting themselves out and congregating in a place where you can reach them in a predictable fashion.
Fish where the fish are if you want to be a successful fisherman. (Update: Fishing involves putting out bait and letting fish come to you, not running after fish in a boat with a bullhorn, shouting into the water. If you watch the video, you’ll see a bit of why marketing on Facebook really isn’t marketing at all.)
Today in the Free Traffic Tips Minicast, we’re talking about whether or not friending a whole bunch of people on Facebook or Twitter is the point of the game or does you any good.
Here’s a hint: Seth Godin says no. In this audio, I start explaining why. You can play it below or download it [mp3 | 5.9 mb].
Ever since someone told me I was on Facebook Grader’s Elite User page last month I’ve been in a constant state of amusement about it for three reasons.
I was still getting Facebook traffic every day, whether I spend zero minutes or an hour there each day,
All the social media scoring sites amuse me to no end, because though they mean well, they miss the point,
At the time I had about half the friends of most of the people on that list, and while I updated Facebook nearly every day, I almost never logged into to do it. I had the stats to legitimately be on the list, but I worked about 10% as hard to get them as anyone else on that list.
I build traffic systems to increase the profitibility of your website. You can implement them yourself with one of our how-to manuals, below, or you can email us at support@asktinu.com for a free consultation, to evaluate your site for a custom solution.
