My blog is up, and the rest of each site seems to be functioning normally with the exception of my free member resource section… I’m in the process of rebuilding it… but I don’t have as much time as I did to do this before- I have to prioritize the projects I’m working on for my clients.

However, the blog will go on as scheduled, as I either write most of this in advance, or come up with the concepts I’m going to write about beforehand.

I’ve decided that from now on, I may have what was becoming Money Friday on Mondays… Money Mondays just sounds better, doesn’t it?

We’re all a little pressed for time, so let’s begin, shall we?

Our concept today is Asset vs. Liability. I woke up from a dream and the Rich Dad, Poor Dad informercial was on.

And when I thought about the concept of Asset vs. Liability, I was surprised that I hadn’t ordered the book before.

So for a few minutes, let’s talk about asset, liability and your site, or if you don’t have a site, your online activities.

Ask yourself this question if you’re making an attempt to make money with your site. Is my site now – or will it soon become – an asset, or a liability? Does it, and my other online activity, make money for me passively, or am I working harder and harder at doing business online, only to get less out of the effort?

Are you an affiliate of a bunch of programs or do you have one primary focus you put your time into?

When I first started out in marketing, I quickly learned that you can’t sign up to be an affiliate at everything and be successful. This is not to say that I wasn’t an affiliate… that’s how I made my first money outside of having advertising on my own content sites.

The trick was, I focused on ONE program at a time. I learned everything I could about one thing, and focused all my energy on it until I made some seed money – a tactic I first learned from a man named Allen Says, who we’ll come back to later, maybe today. Once I had the seed money, I went back to build my primary business, and started focusing on fewer side programs.

You don’t have to follow my example to make money from your online endeavors. You can be an affiliate the rest of your life if you have an endless stream of new products that are in the same arena, and people to suggest them to.

You can get these people from free traffic methods, or you can build a list, or both, as long as it’s cost effective.

Just make sure you aren’t sending them one big commercial after another, and that you create real value for them out of the content that is in your zine, including your suggestions. You also don’t want to suggest any old thing, for the sake of making some money.

Give your readers real value, and build a sincere relationship with them, where you truly want to see them succeed, whether or not they ever buy anything you suggest.

Seems a little wacky, sure. But if you really enjoy helping people it pays off. If you can strike a nice balance, and target the right market, you can end up with a list full of partners who want to work together toward success, rather than people who want something for nothing.
