I’m spending this weekend giving thanks. This post is part of that mission.

As I start thinking about what I’ve done in past years and where I would be if I hadn’t run into certain people, it’s hard to decide how to proceed. Should I start with the people who have made the biggest impact? The longest? Or should I recognize someone who has done something that seems small but that carrys great meaning?

There’s no way for me to tell what order I should go in. So I’ve decided to go in a completely random order.

I first met Bill French and F. Andy Seidl from MyST Technology, creators of the incredible Blogsite platform, when I had much more fame than money and didn’t know how to leap from that lily pad to the one I really wanted to be on. To be working with two such brilliant minds had me acting like a little kid in a candy store. I wanted to know what they thought about everything and was always honored that they wanted my opinion on anything at all.

I’m still not sure what the future holds for us working together, but I’ll always be grateful that Rodney introduced us, and for everything you’ve both taught me. And everyone reading this should really stop and look at Blogsite – it’s not for everyone, I’ll admit. But it’s the best blogging platform out there, bar none. I’ve got one and every year it’s more incredible than it was the year before in bringing me clients and website visibility.

I woke up from a weird dream where I had the taste of breast milk – of all things! – in my mouth. That soured my mood, which colored my perception, and I didn’t catch it in time to re-direct my energy. I’m sorry if any of you witnessed that – though I can’t say I’ll ever deal with spam/snarkiness/content theft/other like a perfect angel, I will make sure, in future, that I don’t let the issue extend to a wider audience. Bad energy tends to start a chain reaction of worse energy if you don’t know how to stop it.

But the good news is, just six months ago I would have continued that chain for up to two days before I stopped, witnessed, and ended up laughing at myself and the whole situation.

And because that, I am grateful for rule number six.

To shift from those moods and have a better day/life, one of my favorite exercises is to stop and think of what I’m grateful for. And today, I’ve very grateful for YOU, thank you very much!

I am very lucky person to be alive in a time where a person can make money as a direct result of having what essentially amounts to a big mouth!

Thank you for all the birthday wishes. I spent it with both my parents, both my sisters, both my brothers, and all their kids, and some of my cousins, who all, incredibly, managed to shift to gather in my honor at the last minute. First family celebration of my birth in the three plus years I’ve been on the West coast. One of my top ten best days ever.
