Ah, the viral blog. She is like a melody you can’t quite remember. You wouldn’t be able to hum it but you certainly know the song when you hear it. She’s a light breeze on a hot Vegas day. She brings you a smile like the one when you make what is normally a week’s profit in a day.

How do you know if your blog is, how do you say… virulent?

(I’ve got a whole french accent as I write this in my head. Scary.)

You know your blog is virulent when:

• Whatever marketing you do for it has an exponetial effect
• A growing percentage of your audience bookmarks your site
• Your first-time visitor traffic is sticking, and you get more and more new visitors each month
• If you try to leave your blog for a while, you start getting angry emails
• Your site is linked from hundreds of places that have little to do with your topic matter, and several that are directly related to you
• Your blog posts are commented and linked at other sites

A virus is something you get, but can’t help but share. Think about that while I cook up the next portion.
