Yes I know it’s “Booker T. and the MG’s”. And this seminal band from Memphis signature song was titled…..?
Last Friday I proffered a site which allowed you to have a free web page for all of your bookmarks, etc.
Well, here we go again.
I’ve found another Free Online Bookmark Manager that just might be the equal or better.
As their site says:
“Most Web browsers including Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator support bookmarking to help you keep track of important Web pages so you don’t have to remember individual URL addresses. Unfortunatelly today an average person has to deal with far more than one computer. Most of us have a few computers at home, another one at work. When we travel we use laptops or internet cafe. Would it be nice to have access to all your bookmarks (favorites) from different computers?
“Most of us don’t have much time to spend on managing bookmarks (favorites). We don’t want to “leave” our browsers, we like so much, to use some other application to help us organize our bookmarks. Would it be nice if as soon as we add a bookmark in our browser it would get syncronized with all the other computers?
“Most of us have lots of links bookmarks. Would it be nice if we could easily see if the web site the link we bookmarked a while back is not valid anymore?
” BookKit.com is a free online tool, which provides an easy and elegant way to manage your bookmarks. Here are the main features of the service:
- Easy-to-use and extensive tool to manage bookmarks online.
- BookKit Desktop IE Bookmark Synchronizer to imperceptibly and quickly synchronize your local IE bookmarks with the BookKit web service.
- Support for the popular FireFox Bookmark Synchronizer Plug-In (by Torisugari)
- Import utilities, which allow you to upload FireFox and Safari bookmarks into BookKit server.
- Automatically validates your bookmarks
- Provides a number of useful utilities (Remove duplicate links, Remove invalid links, Sorting etc.)
- Supports international encoding. Use any character set you like.
- Supports Google homepage content.
- Is fully supported for Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari.
- Use any encoding (language) for bookmark names and descriptions
- No pop-up ads.”
Though this site asks for donations, it is a free program that you might wish to use in conjunction with AllMyFavorites.

this sounds like a great idea as I go from computer to computer a lot and don’t want to memorize every single one of my favorite pages. I need to start utilizing programs like this
Have you tried Bookmark Base? It’s a portable software that gives the most secure way to have one set of bookmarks on each PC.
It’s preferable for people who don’t want to share their bookmarks with anyone.

Mattew - Sorry for not commenting back sooner. So, how’s the implementation going?
Mad Cat - I’ll check Bookmark Base out. Thanks for the tip!
Matthew - sorry I misspelled your name.
