- Write an article and distribute it to high traffic sites
- Add the link to that article on your site to social bookmarking sites – mention the reprint rights
- Write to your past clients with a special freebie.
- Answer questions in forums – leave your signature file
- Start a blog, or if you have one, do a great, well written blog post that solves a common problem. Mind your tagging, and ping responsibly.
- Submit a press release
- Start a Pay Per Click campaign
- Contact a non-competing peer to send a free offer with subscription about your site and reciprocate (Long term commissions sweeten the deal.)
- Write a three page ebook/whitepaper and give it away free.
- Order a radio or TV spot in a local market
- Offer to speak at a targeted venue for free as long as they’ll let you speak within the next 24 hours to a sizeable audience. Combine with giveaway for more signups.
- Have a free Skypecast, or do a video or audio podcast.
- Ask clients to tell a friend online, give them a means, offer them a rebate or other form of reward for each buyer, and partial credit for a certain number of subscribers
- Buy business cards with calling card stickers on the back and give them away at a local conference, Chamber of Commerce meeting, Internet Chamber of Commerce meeting or other gathering
- Go to sites like Yahoo Answers or LinkedIn where you can display your expertise and answer individual questions in the most unique way you can manage.
