When I first mentioned that I was looking for content about Web Video at twitter, MarshallK was kind enough to toss me a cool tidbit, and I didn’t even have to ask.
His report is about Live Video Online, which is definitely going to be the center of our focus today in the next few posts. There’s something that is way more compelling about a live person talking to you, and having no idea what could happen that’s better than any recorded video, no matter how polished it is.
Here’s some of what my home skillet Marshall had to say:
Video on the web, one of the most compelling types of media being published, will no longer by exclusively asynchronous. Have you seen my favorite podcasts in the player on the sidebar of this blog? Make those all live broadcasts and I will gladly watch one or two minutes of commercials every 15 minutes. The barrier to entry into the video publishing world has been lowered dramatically and when live video broadcast is easily accessible then we are going to see some thrilling stuff.
Can you hear me in the cheap seats? Live video is very quickly going to change everything in web video again, and remember you heard it first at Marshallk. It’s not hard to get people to watch video, and even easier, live video. Here’s someone telling you they’d gladly watch ads during live shows. I am seconding that. I don’t think either of us says this lightly.
Go read more of what he had to say about live video, then read his bio. The man knows what he’s talking about. Subscribing to his feed would be another good move.
If you’ve got input on any aspect of live video and are an authority through use or career, remember to leave me a message at Twitter. I’m only reading messages from following friends, though. And yes, I’ll friend you back.
