What is PlugIM?

Before we embark on our evening of traffic talks, I thought it would help matters if I caught up our lovely newbies. Forgive us, new people, for we forget that you have no idea what we’re yammering about.

To put it simply, if you know what Digg is, you’ll be able to understand what PlugIM is.

PlugIM is like Digg for marketers, business owners and search engine news/tips. It’s based on a similiar idea, but because it focuses on only a few, related topics, your stories get a lot more attention.

And here’s an explanation in case you don’t know what Digg is. PlugIM and Digg are known as social news sites. Here’s how it works.

Regular people like you and I find stories on the web that we feel may be of interest to others, sometimes from our own sites. We submit the link for that story to our favorite social news site, and other people in the community vote for or against our story, and the ones that get the most comment are pushed to the front page and get the most traffic.

For the majority of readers here, remember there are new people online every day who barely use their PCs for email, news and a little YouTube that may have no idea what Digg is, and that’s just fine. All of use were brand new once, yes? Thanks for indulging us.

The obvious benefit is that if you can get on the front page of a site that has traffic targeted to your business, you can get more traffic, which can also mean a bump in sales if your conversion rate of visitors to clients is fairly consistent.

However, making it to the front page is not as straightforward as submitting a whole bunch of links from your site, which we’ll get more into this weekend.

But I’ll leave you with this one tip you can act on now when you sign up – you can also profit with PlugIM. Follow the link for details – I’m not telling… ;)
